No Fee Phone Cards Make International Calling Simple
“I don’t want a phone card with extra fees. Are there calling cards with just a flat rate per minute?” While some phone cards with extra fees may give you more minutes for long, frequent phone calls, flat rate phone cards with no other fees make calculating your minutes simple and easy. ZapTel offers a variety of cards that have a flat rate per minute and no additional fees. Some cards have different features available depending on your calling need.

Time to create your holiday gift wish list with MyGiftster
Give the gift givers in your life tips with your MyGiftster online gift list registry If you ask me, it’s never too early to do some holiday shopping. Like many others, I’m looking to stay within a budget and hoping I make the mark with the gifts I give to others. To help others in my family get the most out of their money when giving me a gift, I’ve put my wish list on MyGiftster.com , an online gift registry run by us fun people at ZapTel. I know what some of you may be thinking – doesn’t giving someone a list take the thought out of gift giving? I say no! From a gift giving standpoint, the last thing I want to do is give someone a gift I put a lot of thought into just to have them return or exchange it. From a gift receiving perspective, I feel bad when I know someone has put a lot of thought into a gift that I know I will never use. So we’ve decided to make sharing gift wish lists fun and easy for everyone with MyGiftster.com . And what better gift can we give you than to provide this service for FREE! In my account, I’ve created gift registries for both of my kids and me (my husband has his own login). I’ve created a group for my family so we can share our lists with them and they can share their lists with us.

Adding Phone Cards to Military Care Packages
“I’m preparing to send out military care packages for the holidays. What phone card should I include?” I’ve talked to a number of people associated with volunteer organizations or churches who have been preparing to send care packages to our military personel overseas. These care packages are very appreciated by the soldiers, and a phone card is a great item to include. One important thing to ask first before purchasing phone cards for care packages is what kind of phones the soldiers have access to. There are usually phone tents set up by AT&T that will only work with AT&T Prepaid Phone Cards . Other times, the soldiers may have access to other phone lines that are routed through the USA. Before purchasing any phone cards for care packages, please take a minute to find out the type of phone first so you don’t end up purchasing phone cards that can’t be used. If the soldiers have access to the AT&T tents, then the AT&T Prepaid Phone Card will be the card you want to purchase. They are available in $6.25 (125 minute) cards as well as $59.99 (1200 minute) cards. For care packages, I recommend the $6.25 cards.

Phone Cards vs. Mobile Phones – Which should you use?
“Why should I use a phone card when I can just set up an international calling plan with my mobile provider?” Great question. With such a broad variety of mobile phone plans out there, it can be much easier to have an international calling plan set up with your mobile provider, but it’s important to know that adding this can come with a great cost. Depending on your overall international calling need, a phone card may still be the best way for you to save money on your out of country calls. Recently, we did a study where we compared our best phone card rates with the rates of the large mobile phone providers in the USA. We added in all the service fees the providers charge as well as looking at our phone cards with additional fees to make sure we were looking at the total cost you would pay for your calls

How phone card expiration dates work
“Why do phone cards have expiration dates?” The best way to answer why phone cards have expiration dates is to explain it with simple business accounting. At some point, a business has to consider a product as used or abandoned so they can accurately balance their outstanding credits. For some businesses, the product is a gift certificate. In ZapTel’s case, the product is a phone card. Here’s an example for you. Let’s say you buy a phone card and have a $2.00 balance remaining on it. At what point should the carrier consider that you’re not planning to use the PIN? The entire time that you have a balance remaining on the phone card while it is active, whether you use it or not, the carrier is reserving capacity in case you decide to use the card. The carrier has to make a decision based on user activity and the rates they make available plus the capacity they reserve to determine a product’s expiration date. It’s a standard business practice for a phone card carrier.

International students save money with phone cards
“I’ll be in the USA for the next year. What is the best way for me to call my family at home?” Phone cards have always been a great way to make affordable phone calls all over the world. For students who are looking to stay within a budget, phone cards can be the best way to get the most minutes for your money. Here are 3 good reasons why you should consider using a phone card instead of any other calling plan: #1 – You’re not tied into a calling plan with a phone card. With phone cards, you can talk as much or as little as you’d like without committing to a monthly usage amount. If you no longer need a phone card, there’s no plan to cancel. It’ one less thing you need to think about when you’re getting ready to go home. #2 – You can use a phone card from any kind of phone.
