অবৈধ ভয়েস ওভার ইন্টারনেট প্রোটোকল ব্যবসার (ভিওআইপি) সঙ্গে জড়িত থাকার অভিযোগে র‌্যাংগস গ্রুপের চেয়ারম্যান অবদুর রউফ চৌধুরীসহ অপর ১২ জনের বিরুদ্ধে আজ শনিবার মামলা দায়ের করা হয়েছে। বাংলাদেশ টেলিকম আইন ২০০১ এর ৩৫(২), ৫৫ এবং ৭৪ ধারা অনুযায়ী বাংলাদেশ টেলিকমিউনিকেশন রেগুলেটরি কমিশনের (বিটিআরসি) পক্ষে তেজগাঁও শিল্পাঞ্চল থানায় এই মামলা দায়ের করা হয়। অবৈধ ভিওআইপির কারণে যাঁদের বিরুদ্ধে মামলা করা হয়েছে, তাঁরা হলেন দেশের অন্যতম শিল্পগোষ্ঠী র‌্যাংগস গ্রুপের চেয়ারম্যান আবদুর রউফ চৌধুরী, র‌্যাংগস গ্রুপের পরিচালক জাকিয়া রউফ চৌধুরী, রোমো রউফ চৌধুরী, সোহানা চৌধুরী, এ. মামুনউল্লাহ চৌধুরী, আনোয়ার হোসেন, আশরাফউদ্দিন, ফজলে সেলিম, এ কে এম শামসুদ্দিন। এ ছাড়া র‌্যাংগসটেলের কর্মকর্তা করিম ইকবাল ভূঁইয়া, মমিনুর রহমান চৌধুরী ও শেখ কামরুজ্জামান। উল্লেখ্য, গত বৃহস্পতিবার রাত আটটা থেকে গতকাল শুক্রবার সকাল পর্যন্ত দেশের অন্যতম বেসরকারি পিএসটিএন অপারেটর র‌্যাংগসটেলের তেজগাঁওয়ের প্রধান কার্যালয়ে অভিযান চালায় বিটিআরসি। এ সময় র‌্যাংগসটেলের বিরুদ্ধে অবৈধভাবে ভিওআইপির কার্যক্রম চালানোর প্রমাণ পায় তারা। পরে র্যাংকসটেলের প্রধান সুইচরুম সিল করে দেওয়া হয় ও কয়েকজন ঊর্ধ্বতন কর্মকর্তাকে জিজ্ঞাসাবাদের জন্য আটক করা হয়। প্রসঙ্গত, র‌্যাংগসটেল র‌্যাংগস গ্রুপের অন্যতম প্রতিষ্ঠান। গত তত্ত্বাবধায়ক সরকারের আমলেও এই ল্যান্ডফোন সেবাদানকারী প্রতিষ্ঠানটিকে অবৈধ ভিওআইপির অভিযোগে জরিমানা করা হয়েছিল। Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission yesterday shut down all operations of RanksTel for its alleged involvement in illegal VoIP (voice over Internet protocol) business and detained three of its senior officials
