The much awaited LG Cookie Plus GS500 has finally hit Italy under the name of LG Velvet. The handset is now available in Italy via TIM for 179 Euro (about $242) with free of contract. As mentioned before, the Velvet offers a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen display, a 3MP camera, an animated UI with widgets, a microSD car slot (up to 8GB), an MP3 player, an FM radio, 3G, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headset jack and supports direct access to social networking sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Flickr.

Telus allowing downloading of apps for LG Dare ? Just heard this at a LG Dare forum, and I’ve confirmed it by downloading mgmaps, opera mini, google maps into my LG Dare . MGMaps works for me (though it’s hobbled by graphics problems).
