Folks in Canada will be able to purchase the Samsung Captivate via Rogers. The Canadian network carrier has already started taking pre-order for this highly anticipated Android smartphone. The Rogers’ Captivate comes jam packed with an Android 2.1 OS, a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED display, Wi-Fi, GPS, HSPA, a 5MP AutoFocus camera, an HD video recording capability, a 1GHz processor, and a 16GB of internal memory.

Another Android smartphone from Motorola has just been announced in Taiwan. Known as the Quench XT5, the handset sports a 3.2-inch 320 x 480 capacitive touchscreen display, a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash, a 256MB RAM, a 512MB onboard memory, a microSD card slot, GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth, a 3.5mm headset jack and runs on Android 2.1 OS.
