I have a problem. I have big fat studio monitor speakers that play sound properly. When listen to music on my headphones it sounds entirely different even though my headphones are really good. But I found a way to deal with it. VLC player. Go to tools / extend settings. enable eq and pick the option called ‘headphones.’ Its great. I praise whoever made it. Its uncanny how well it reproduces my speakers.

I hope you’ll stand with me in support of the bad pop mashup as critical tool, and against the all-too-popular proudly phallogocentric mode of Lady Gaga critique represented by Mark Dery’s essay from April , which was and remains misdirected and anti-art . And Dery’s respective replies to the commenters who called him out on the jaw-dropping misogyny of his article actually managed to be worse than the article itself, I think.
